The Zionsville American Legion Riders (Riders) is part of a non-profit 501(c)(19) organization created to assist local families with children who have been diagnosed with leukemia or lymphoma.
We met Josiah Nelson and his family in 2007 and created Josiah’s Ride: Cruzin’ 4 a Cure benefit to sponsor and support them during their difficult time. We are so happy to say, Josiah is now a healthy twenty-year-old, attending Purdue University. Since 2007, the Riders have helped 15 additional families and together we have raised a total of over $150,000. In 2018, with the help of our sponsors and participants like you, we were able to donate a total of $17,010.
The annual donations go to sponsored families and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We also donated food and gas gift cards to other families at St. Vincent Children’s Hospital and Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health North, to offset their costs during lengthy clinic stays.
Due to your generous support, we had minimal out of pocket expenses, allowing us to give to those stricken with cancer and the research that is so desperately needed.
We need your help again this year.
Sponsorship and community participation are the keys to our success!
